Nordnorsk kunstmuseum – «The Art Museum of Northern Norway»

This is the the northernmost art museum in Norway, and was established in 1985.

The museum focuses on art from the northern part of Norway, from the 18th century, such as paintings, sculptures, graphics, photos, videos, textiles and

crafts, ranging from Romanticism to Modernism.

There’s also temporary exhibitions with varying themes.

The museum has the status of a core institution. This means that the museum has a special responsibility for communicating art to children and young people in the three northernmost counties.

There is a free tour of the museum, every Sunday at 2pm, for all visitors.
